How to use 次第 ( = しだい= shidai)

「着替えが終わり次第レッスンします。」

= Kigae ga owari shidai ressun shimasu.

= I will start the lesson as soon as I finish changing my outfit.

 

「僕のように日本語がうまくなるかどうかはみんなの努力次第です。」

= Boku no you ni nihongo ga umaku naru ka douka wa minna no doryoku shidai desu.

= Whether your Japanese gets as good as mine or not depends on your efforts.

How to use わけにはいかない ( = wake ni wa ikanai)

「このレッスンが終わるまで寝るわけにはいきません。」

= Kono ressun wa owaru made neru wake ni wa ikimasen.

= Until I finish this lesson, I can’t just go to bed. 

 

 

 

「おねが~い。猫タワー買って!」

= Onegaai. Neko tawaa katte!

Pretty pleaaaase. Buy me a cat tower. 

「そんなかわいい顔で言われたら買わないわけにはいかないなあ。」

= Sonna kawaii kao de iwaretara kawanai wake ni wa ikanai naa.

= If you ask me with that cute face, I have no choice but to buy you one.

/ How can I not buy one if you ask me with that cute face?

How to use 〜げ ( = ge)

DLPT (犬語能力試験)1級 合格したよ。」

= DLPT (Inugo nouryoku shiken) ikkyuu goukaku shitayo.

= Hey, I passed DLPT (Dog Language Proficiency Test) Level 1.

「なんか、得意だね。」

= Nanka, tokuige dane.

= You look so proud.

How to use っこない ( = kkonai)

「僕に日本語なんて教えられっこないよ。」

= Boku ni nihongo nante oshierarekkonai yo.

= There is no way that I can teach Japanese.

 

 

「ハルカ先生どこ?」

= Haruka sensei doko?

= Where’s Haruka-Sensei?

しーっ!

= Shii!

= Shh! 

「ここに隠れていたら見つかりっこないからね。」

= Koko ni kakurete itara mitsukarikkonai karane.

= If I hide here, there is no way that they can find me.
